Types of liquid waste we collect:

Liquid waste covers a broad range of materials produced by businesses across every sector, including:

Wastewater and trade effluent: Process water, rinse water, and trade effluent from food production, manufacturing, catering, and commercial laundries. Trade effluent discharged to sewers requires consent from your water company under the Water Industry Act 1991.

Grease trap and interceptor waste: Fat, oil, and grease (FOG) collected from grease traps and oil interceptors in restaurants, food manufacturers, and petrol stations. Grease traps require regular emptying to prevent blockages and comply with drainage agreements.

Liquid food waste: Brewery waste, dairy effluent, juice and beverage production residues, and other organic liquid waste streams from the food and drink industry.

Waste oil and hydrocarbon liquids: Used cooking oil, motor oil, hydraulic fluid, and other hydrocarbon liquids. These may be eligible for recycling or energy recovery rather than disposal. We’ll let you know what collection route is suitable, including recycling or recovery where that’s available.

Chemical process liquids: Industrial process liquids, laboratory liquid waste, and chemical wash-down waters. Hazardous chemical liquids require specialist disposal with consignment note documentation.

Sewage and septic tank waste: Liquid waste from septic tanks, cesspools, and holding tanks at properties not connected to mains sewer.

IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers)

IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers) suit larger volumes of compatible liquid waste and are available in common capacities of 600, 800 and 1,000 litres. They can be used for appropriate wastewater, oils, sludge, slurry and chemical liquids where the container specification is suitable for the material.

Not every liquid can use the same IBC. Tell us what the container will hold so we can confirm the correct storage and collection setup.
