Waste Disposal
Doncaster

The areas of Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham have a Joint Waste Plan in place and data shows that, collectively, the areas produce as much as four million tonnes of waste every year. This is the equivalent of filling the vast Wembley Stadium in London TWICE! As landfills fill rapidly under the weight of such demand, it is clear to see the importance of recycling trade waste in Doncaster.

Business Waste is committed to helping with these aims, offering a hassle-free, convenient and business-specific service that looks after individual companies, Doncaster and the environment overall. From making disposal and recyclable collections as convenient as possible to handling the practicalities of recycling everything from cardboard and paper to glass and plastics, we are on-hand to ensure that going green does not have to be an overly-expensive or time-consuming chore.

Recycling
Doncaster

The large South Yorkshire market town of Doncaster has a population of around 110,000 people and the wider Metropolitan borough is home to almost 305,000. This number of residents means that there is never a shortage of trade waste being generated by businesses in the area.

The town has recovered well from the decline of coal mining through the development of its service sector and the skyline of the town is dominated by the popular Frenchgate Shopping Centre. Doncaster is also home to an ongoing project to create a new Civic and Cultural Quarter. Phase one has already been completed, resulting in a new performance venue known as Cast, the town’s first public square – Sir Nigel Gresley Square – a new council chamber and civic offices, and residential developments. The project also involves the creation of a state-of-the-art cinema and new restaurants.

Trust
Business Waste

As Doncaster’s city centre regenerates, footfall to the businesses in the area are likely to rise. This is likely to result in a growing need for comprehensive waste management plans. With so many exciting developments happening, it is unlikely that business owners and managers will have the time to devote to the important matter of trade waste disposal and recycling but, thankfully, effective business waste management is the sole focus of our firm.

  • Can I add an additional bin to my service?

Yes, of course. We can provide extra bins for new waste streams to encourage recycling. Or if you’re simply producing more waste of the same type, we can add an extra or larger bin to your delivery and collection services if you’re at capacity.

  • Do you supply a duty of care certificate?

Yes, we provide a duty of care certificate (also known as a waste transfer note (WTN)) free of charge as part of your service agreement. This is included for free every time we collect any type of waste from your premises. Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.

Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.

  • How often will my bin be emptied?

We offer our customers a choice of daily, weekly, or fortnightly collections – so your bins are emptied as often as you want. Our expert team can advise on the correct waste collection schedule based on the type and amount of waste you produce and your business needs – such as your bin storage space and location.

  • What time will my bin be collected?

Bin collection times vary depending on your location, waste type, number and size of bins, and other factors. We work with all our customers to ensure your waste is always collected on time when it’s suitable for you and the licensed waste carrier. We can work around access times to arrange collections at convenient times.

  • What type of wheelie bins are available?

A range of two and four-wheel bins are available to store all sorts of waste on your premises. Explore our bins to see all available bins and information about what types and amounts of waste they can hold.

For any questions and answers about wheelie bin weight limits, sizes, locks, and anything else – read our bin FAQ guide.

  • How can we reduce our waste?

There are many ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce as individuals and businesses. A waste audit can highlight where you’re producing lots of waste as a starting place to cut down. Simple steps to reduce waste include efficient purchasing, buying reusable products, and recycling as much as possible. For more tips, read our guide about how to reduce waste.

If you have specific questions about reducing a certain type of waste, find the relevant page in Your Waste.

  • Do you collect any type of waste?

Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems

These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.

  • What is ISO certification and why is it important?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.

ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
