Multi-site waste management for large organisations

Managing waste across several sites means getting the bins, collection frequencies and paperwork right at every location. A city-centre store may have restricted access times, while a distribution centre may need larger containers and several collections each week.

Business Waste provides one point of contact across all your sites, with consolidated invoicing or costs separated to suit your business. This ensures:

  • You have the correct bins, containers and machinery at every site.
  • Your collection schedules are set up to suit the volumes of waste produced and the site’s day-to-day operations and access requirements.
  • Your invoicing is provided in your preferred format.

Where agreed, we can conduct a waste audit and arrange the correct services required for each site. Your business will be assigned a dedicated account manager available for on-site visits as well as any day-to-day enquiries that may arise.

Waste reporting for large organisations

Large organisations are asked to report on waste generation statistics, recycling rates, and landfill diversion as part of their annual sustainability reporting, ESG disclosures, and Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) obligations.

We can provide reporting on waste volumes, waste streams, collection frequency and recycling outcomes across your sites. This can support internal performance reviews, environmental reporting and systems such as ISO 14001.

We’ll supply data about your:

  • Waste volume by stream
  • Collection frequency
  • Site-level or consolidated data
  • Recycling or treatment outcomes where available
  • Service issues and changes
  • Costs, if this forms part of the agreed reporting

For organisations with zero-to-landfill or net-zero targets, we work to ensure that your waste is diverted from landfill wherever possible, through recycling, composting, energy recovery, and other recovery routes. Contact us to discuss waste reporting requirements for your business.

Simpler Recycling for large businesses in England

Under Simpler Recycling Regulations, workplaces in England have been required to separate dry recyclable materials, food waste and non-recyclable waste since March 31st, 2025, unless the organisation qualifies for the temporary micro-firm exemption. For multi-site organisations, the staff threshold applies across the whole business rather than separately at each location.

The Environment Agency has announced enforcement action, including charges of £118 per hour for investigating businesses that have not separated their waste streams.

We can review the bins and collections at each site and help identify locations where food waste or recyclable materials are still being placed in general waste. Contact us to audit your current waste setup and identify any Simpler Recycling gaps.

Digital Waste Tracking changes

Digital Waste Tracking is being introduced in phases. From October 2026, permitted waste receiving sites in England, Wales and Northern Ireland must use the new service to record waste receipts. Existing Waste Transfer Notes and hazardous waste consignment records continue during this first phase. Further requirements for carriers, brokers and dealers are planned as the system expands.

We’ll update collection and reporting processes as the requirements affecting waste producers and collectors develop, ensuring you have one less thing to worry about. Contact us to discuss how Digital Waste Tracking will affect your waste management operations.

How large business waste collection works

  1. Review your sites and waste streams

We review your waste streams, sites, operating constraints, and service priorities.

  2. Collection and service plan

We recommend suitable containers, collection frequencies and separation arrangements for each site.

  3. Deliver bins and equipment

Bins and equipment are delivered, schedules are agreed, and site guidance is put in place. Invoicing can be structured around your business, whether you need one consolidated invoice or costs separated by site, department or service.

  4. Scheduled collections start

Waste is collected by licensed carriers and taken for recycling, treatment, recovery, or disposal as appropriate.

  5. Review and optimisation

We review reporting, costs, collections, and service issues so your setup can change in line with your site requirements. If a site starts producing more or less waste, you can adjust collection frequencies, swap container types, or add and remove services without rebuilding the whole waste setup.

DRY MIXED RECYCLING

Recycling rebates for high-volume recyclables

If your business produces high volumes of recyclables like cardboard, plastics, or metals, you may qualify for a recycling rebate. We can check your material type, volume, quality, and storage setup, then explain whether a rebate could reduce your overall waste costs.

Commercial Recycling Rebates

Bins and equipment for large waste volumes

Large sites often need more than standard wheelie bins. We can provide specialist equipment to help store high volumes, reduce unnecessary collections, and keep waste moving during busy periods.

  • Waste Balers

Compress recyclable materials into bales to save space and reduce collection frequency.
