Waste Management Bolton
Legislatively and ethically, Bolton businesses are under pressure to maintain trade waste disposal. However, many Bolton companies are unhappy with the charges made on disposing of trade waste at the area’s tips, and fortnightly collections by the local authority don’t keep pace.

When it’s important to keep operating costs down, having a seamless waste disposal service at an affordable price is invaluable.
No Bolton business can afford to get on the wrong side of industry rules and guidelines on how waste materials are dealt with, either. So, we offer a trackable, auditable service and all documentation is produced reliably and promptly.
We also pride ourselves on working cleanly and efficiently, to keep collections discrete and problem-free.

Under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, all businesses must have commercial waste collection agreements with a registered waste carrier and all such arrangements and collections must be documented. Bolton’s local authority reinforces this stipulation to its business community and reminds firms of their duty of care to separate out recyclable waste.
With Business Waste Bolton, this duty of care becomes a great deal easier to manage. We can collect a wide range of different waste at regular intervals to meet your needs, and we handle your disposals in the best way possible. We collect all recycling materials as well as hazardous waste, waste oil, sanitary waste, clinical waste and confidential waste. Did you know that sending materials to be recycled often means business cost savings, compared to sending waste to landfill? For many companies in the Bolton area, having a fortnightly collection service for recyclable waste will not be sufficient, and they want flexible and responsive services. That’s why Business Waste Bolton is the provider many companies choose to protect their “green” credentials. Not least as there is the confidence that Business Waste is passionate about reclaiming and re-purposing substantial amounts of commercial waste.
Business Waste Bolton can collect a wide range of recyclable waste at reasonable costs, including plastic recycling, cardboard and paper recycling, aluminium recycling and food waste management.
Did you know that Bolton has the friendliest people in Britain? That’s according to an internet survey carried out by the British Society for the Advancement of Science.
Situated in the heart of the transport network of the North West of England, Bolton’s future as a centre of commerce and industry is looking as prosperous as its vibrant past. There are over 11,000 jobs in the pipeline in Bolton, within various key growth sectors linked to hundreds of millions pounds worth of investment in the area.
This important part of Manchester’s city region has already attracted major names such as AXA, Hitachi and RBS. Bolton-based Warburtons – Britain’s largest independent bakers – produces more than two million rolls, loaves and crumpets every day.
However, Bolton is also renowned as one of the best new business incubators in the UK. This is intrinsically linked to the fact the University of Bolton has a reputation for being professionally focused and is a key player in underpinning the economic potential of the North West.
Bolton’s enviable urban infrastructure and economic potential are matched by rural advantages too. Close to the West Pennine Moors and boasting breathtakingly beautiful spots such as Jumbles reservoir, the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton incorporates a diverse range of smaller towns and villages, all with pockets of business.
But the largest concentration of new jobs is focused on major employment sites such as Rivington Chase and Logistics North, developments which are flagships of Bolton’s commitment to new economic prosperity.
Bolton is clearly moving away from its reliance on textiles manufacturing, which was once vital to prevent decline in the area. Today, growth sectors in the area include retail, construction, business, financial and professional services, as well as cultural and creative industries.
A conurbation as diverse as Bolton has one issue that concerns all companies large and small; how to deal with waste management effectively.
For some ventures, this can be tonnes of waste every month, while for professional companies it can mean disposing of small amounts of confidential waste properly and within the Data protection Act.

Can I add an additional bin to my service?
Yes, of course. We can provide extra bins for new waste streams to encourage recycling. Or if you’re simply producing more waste of the same type, we can add an extra or larger bin to your delivery and collection services if you’re at capacity.
Do you supply a duty of care certificate?
Yes, we provide a duty of care certificate (also known as a waste transfer note (WTN)) free of charge as part of your service agreement. This is included for free every time we collect any type of waste from your premises. Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.
Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.

How can we reduce our waste?

Is Business Waste ISO certified?
Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:
- ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
- ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems
These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.
What is ISO certification and why is it important?
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.
ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:
- ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
- ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
