Simpler Recycling Legislation
New Simpler Recycling legislation comes into force across England from 31 March 2025. By this date all businesses in England with 10 or more employees must arrange separate waste collections of:
- General waste
- Food waste
- Paper and cardboard
- Other dry recycling (glass, plastic, and metals)
Businesses can choose the number and size of containers they use and the frequency of collections for each waste type. Failure to comply with the new Simpler Recycling legislation could lead to fines and penalties from April 2025, enforced by the Environment Agency.
To ensure your business is prepared to comply with the Simpler Recycling policy, we’ve created a quick and easy form to complete. Fill out the form below to find out what you must do to comply with the new Simpler Recycling plans.
Comply with Simpler Recycling
If your business fails to follow the new Simpler Recycling regulations after the 31st March you may receive a fine.
The Environment Agency (EA) will identify non-compliance and first provide advice, then serve a compliance notice, and finally act according to their enforcement and sanction policy (including fines).
