Skips are a great solution for a wide range of waste types – commonly used for construction waste, bulky items, and metals. They’re ideal when you need to get rid of more, larger, or heavier rubbish than even the biggest wheelie bins can accommodate. It also means you normally need fewer, less frequent collections.
If outdoor space is limited or you’re only dealing with a small project then you could consider an alternative such as skip bags or HIPPOBAGs.
Make sure you have space to store a skip outside, close to the area where any waste you want to throw in it is being removed. While skips can store a variety of waste types, they’re not suitable for some kinds of hazardous waste. There’s more information about using a skip in our hire guide.
