Waste Disposal
Blackpool

As Blackpool landfill facilities become increasingly strained it is imperative that we continue to recycle more than ever. With so many different types of waste that can be recycled and reused, it can be difficult to stay on top of your business waste management.

At Business Waste Ltd we understand the headache waste management can cause, and we offer a quick and reliable service to help save you and your business time and money.

We can also arrange for recycling bins suitable for the use of your staff and customers. This allows everyone involved in your business to feel satisfied that they have taken steps towards reducing their carbon footprint on a daily basis. Recent studies have also shown that businesses and commercial organisations who recycle have a higher reputation than those who do not.

Recycling
Blackpool

One of the most iconic towns in the United Kingdom, Blackpool is a cultural hub of tourism and entertainment. From the Blackpool Tower to Pleasure Beach, this well loved seaside resort is home to some of the the country’s famous landmarks and major attractions. Blackpool has been a centre of tourism and business for decades and shows no signs of slowing with millions of visitors every year.

The European Union has imposed a green target of 50% of all waste to be recycled within the UK by 2020. Currently the UK is recycling around 44% of all waste produced. Of all waste produced that can be recycled, a staggering 20% is still sent to landfill every year.

A recent study has shown that Blackpool has been recycling less than 40% of all waste produced in previous years. The town ranks in the bottom quarter at a disappointing 223 out of the 352 British towns and cities for recycling efforts. Whilst the residents of Blackpool have been actively trying to reduce their waste and increase the percentage of their recycling, businesses within the area need to do their part as well. Blackpool is the perfect place for businesses to thrive and be successful. At Business Waste we understand this.

Got a
Question?

  • Can I add an additional bin to my service?

Yes, of course. We can provide extra bins for new waste streams to encourage recycling. Or if you’re simply producing more waste of the same type, we can add an extra or larger bin to your delivery and collection services if you’re at capacity.

  • Do you supply a duty of care certificate?

Yes, we provide a duty of care certificate (also known as a waste transfer note (WTN)) free of charge as part of your service agreement. This is included for free every time we collect any type of waste from your premises. Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.

Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.

  • How often will my bin be emptied?

We offer our customers a choice of daily, weekly, or fortnightly collections – so your bins are emptied as often as you want. Our expert team can advise on the correct waste collection schedule based on the type and amount of waste you produce and your business needs – such as your bin storage space and location.

  • What time will my bin be collected?

Bin collection times vary depending on your location, waste type, number and size of bins, and other factors. We work with all our customers to ensure your waste is always collected on time when it’s suitable for you and the licensed waste carrier. We can work around access times to arrange collections at convenient times.

  • What type of wheelie bins are available?

A range of two and four-wheel bins are available to store all sorts of waste on your premises. Explore our bins to see all available bins and information about what types and amounts of waste they can hold.

For any questions and answers about wheelie bin weight limits, sizes, locks, and anything else – read our bin FAQ guide.

  • How can we reduce our waste?

There are many ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce as individuals and businesses. A waste audit can highlight where you’re producing lots of waste as a starting place to cut down. Simple steps to reduce waste include efficient purchasing, buying reusable products, and recycling as much as possible. For more tips, read our guide about how to reduce waste.

If you have specific questions about reducing a certain type of waste, find the relevant page in Your Waste.

  • Do you collect any type of waste?

Yes! We can collect a wide range of waste types in various amounts from all sorts of businesses. From general waste to popular glass, paper, and packaging recycling – as well as specialist waste streams such as clinical, hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste – we work with licensed waste carriers able to safely collect all such types.

  • Is Business Waste ISO certified?

Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems

These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.

  • What is ISO certification and why is it important?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.

ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
