Trade waste in Wales is regulated by Natural Resources Wales (NRW), which is the environmental regulator for Wales, separate from the Environment Agency which covers England.
All waste carriers collecting trade waste in Cardiff must be registered with NRW. The Duty of Care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applies across the UK, requiring Cardiff businesses to ensure their trade waste is stored safely, collected by a licensed carrier, and disposed of with appropriate documentation (Waste Transfer Notes).
