Commercial Waste Collection Harlow
Harlow is a first-generation new town, built in Essex immediately after WWII to house bombed-out families from London and cope with the post-war population expansion.
Always intended to be self-sufficient in terms of employment, shopping and business, the town had two industrial estates that attracted electronics and pharmaceutical companies as well as light engineering firms, manufacturers and publishers.
Despite that intention, it became more of a commuter town in the 1980s thanks to its excellent transport links. Trains go north to Cambridge and south to Liverpool Street, linking with Jubilee line stations on the way. The London to Cambridge M11 motorway also passes to the east of the town and the A414, the main trunk road leading east-west through Essex and Hertfordshire, runs through it.
Around half of Templefields, the industrial estate on the north-east of the town by the Hertfordshire border, is now given over to retail. The other, Pinnacles, has remained commercial, with industrial, technical, scientific and office space alongside warehousing.
At the heart of the town, a large retail space attracts shoppers from a large catchment area. The original town centre, including the UK’s first pedestrian precinct, was built mostly in the 60s and is now in the process of being redeveloped. On the eastern edge of the town, a new enterprise zone is being built on the site of the former Standard Telecommunications Laboratories, where fibre-optic cables were first developed. All this industry and redevelopment is great news for the area but means that this town can expect to see trade waste grow over the coming years.

Waste disposal
Harlow
The larger businesses on the two industrial estates have multiple waste disposal needs but there are also smaller groups of light industrial and retail units around the town, such as Staple Tye and Bush Fair. Retail premises create a large amount of packaging waste although much of it can now be recycled. Paper, cardboard and glass form the bulk of that, as well as plastics. At Business Waste, we can take care of your recycling needs so that you can prioritise your business.

Law requires that all commercial waste must be covered and stored for no more than three days. We can offer a tailor made schedule for collections, which considers your needs as a business. We will then provide you with all the necessary paperwork and wheelie bins to demonstrate your compliance. Business Waste Ltd’s collections will be scheduled to suit you and ensure you adhere to legislation. We will collect from areas including Barham, Claydon and East Bergholt. Our work helps to keep Ipswich looking fabulous and reduce refuse sent to landfill to benefit the environment.
