Waste Collection
West Yorkshire
Every county in England is different. But few have as diverse a set of towns, cities and villages as West Yorkshire. We know that local knowledge is crucial. That’s why as a long-established and locally operated company we know our Holmfirth from our Horsforth. We use this local knowledge to make sure we provide the most efficient and cost-effective collections service anywhere in the wider Yorkshire area.
We make sure that not only is your waste collected when you want it to be, but we use the most energy efficient and green routes to make sure the carbon footprint of your trade waste is as negligible as it can be.
We also offer skips, wheelie bins, and other container hire to let you get rid of your waste. Contact us today to discuss your waste management needs in full.

As a company on the cutting edge of waste management, we are constantly investing in and researching new recycling techniques to turn the landfill of yesteryear into the recycling of today.
Recycling
West Yorkshire
West Yorkshire is a county as diverse as its people. From the urban hustle and bustle of Leeds, to the rural charm of Harewood Estate and Ilkley Moor, this differing landscape requires differing waste management solutions.
While the Metropolitan county encompasses cities like Bradford, Kirklees, and Wakefield, it’s Leeds that is the administrative and cultural heart of the region. Like many of the cities and major towns in the North of England, Leeds came of age during the industrial revolution where it was a major mill town, and provided wool, flax and iron to every corner of the British Empire. While much of this industrial heritage has gone, its distinctive footprint still shapes much of modern Leeds, with sites like Armley Mills, Tower Works, and the Corn Exchange remaining important tourist and community hot spots to this day.
As the UK’s third most populous urban centre, it is no surprise that Leeds also has one of the strongest city economies. The city has a robust employment profile almost evenly split between public, finance, and services industries, meaning that the waste management needs of the city are ever changing and require agile solutions.
Trust
Business Waste
The city is set to grow in importance as it is soon to link up via the East Midlands Hub with London thanks to the development of High Speed 2.
Beyond Leeds, hubs such as Halifax, Bradford, and Huddersfield are still vibrant and vital communities. They also boast distinct industries, with Huddersfield a noted centre of television production. While neighbouring Bradford has had challenges like many post-industrial towns, it is enjoying excellent growth as the headquarters of notable companies like Morrisons, Yorkshire Building Society, BASF, and Pace Micro, each with their own distinct trade waste requirements.

Got a
Question?
-
Can I add an additional bin to my service?
Yes, of course. We can provide extra bins for new waste streams to encourage recycling. Or if you’re simply producing more waste of the same type, we can add an extra or larger bin to your delivery and collection services if you’re at capacity.
-
Do you supply a duty of care certificate?
Yes, we provide a duty of care certificate (also known as a waste transfer note (WTN)) free of charge as part of your service agreement. This is included for free every time we collect any type of waste from your premises. Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.
Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.
-
How often will my bin be emptied?
We offer our customers a choice of daily, weekly, or fortnightly collections – so your bins are emptied as often as you want. Our expert team can advise on the correct waste collection schedule based on the type and amount of waste you produce and your business needs – such as your bin storage space and location.
-
What time will my bin be collected?
Bin collection times vary depending on your location, waste type, number and size of bins, and other factors. We work with all our customers to ensure your waste is always collected on time when it’s suitable for you and the licensed waste carrier. We can work around access times to arrange collections at convenient times.
-
What type of wheelie bins are available?
A range of two and four-wheel bins are available to store all sorts of waste on your premises. Explore our bins to see all available bins and information about what types and amounts of waste they can hold.
For any questions and answers about wheelie bin weight limits, sizes, locks, and anything else – read our bin FAQ guide.
-
How can we reduce our waste?
There are many ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce as individuals and businesses. A waste audit can highlight where you’re producing lots of waste as a starting place to cut down. Simple steps to reduce waste include efficient purchasing, buying reusable products, and recycling as much as possible. For more tips, read our guide about how to reduce waste.

Is Business Waste ISO certified?
Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:
- ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
- ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems
These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.
-
What is ISO certification and why is it important?
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.
ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:
- ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
- ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
