Waste Management Bournemouth

The beautiful seaside resort of Bournemouth is located along the southern coast of England. With seven miles of golden sands stretching alongside the edge of town, Bournemouth is a frequent destination for tourists. Boasting a population of just under 200,000, the town is a hub of energy and culture; a perfect place for businesses and other commercial organisations to thrive.

In recent years, the town of Bournemouth has seen a record amount of new businesses created and it has been said that it has a faster growing digital economy than London. To help keep Bournemouth growing and businesses developing, we operate a professional waste management service to support all commercial organisations within the area when it comes to handling their business waste.

Waste Disposal

At Business Waste Ltd, we promote a zero landfill waste policy and aim to recycle and reuse as much of your waste as possible. Whilst not all waste can be recycled and reused, there are many different types that can, including cardboard and paper, plastics and glass. This can make it difficult and time-consuming for Bournemouth businesses to manage their own waste and recycle correctly and quickly. Once collected, we organise all of your waste into non-recyclables, recyclables and reusable items and dispose of them using local recycling centres in the Bournemouth area.

The European Union has imposed a green target of recycling 50% of all waste within the UK by the year 2020. Currently, the UK recycles an average of around 44% of all waste produced. The local council has been running a series of green campaigns, encouraging the residents and businesses of Bournemouth to lead more eco-friendly lives. In recent years, Bournemouth has recycled around 47% of all waste produced within the area. Whilst this is close to meeting the 2020 target, the figure has dropped from 50% in previous years.

Under UK legislation, every business has a duty of care to keep all premises clean and tidy by disposing of business waste. At Business Waste Ltd, we operate a zero waste policy and aim to help you and your business dispose of all waste produced in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. There are several recycling centres available in the Bournemouth area for both household and commercial waste. Just outside the town, the Wimborne Recycling Centre and the Commercial Recycling Centre primarily facilitate the disposal of business waste. With so many facilities available in the Bournemouth area, Business Waste Ltd can help you and your business dispose of your waste and adhere to UK legislation.

Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.

Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.

We can work around access times to arrange collections at convenient times.

  • Is Business Waste ISO certified?

Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems

These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.

  • What is ISO certification and why is it important?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.

ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
