Cardboard Recycling Rebates

Selling cardboard for cash is possible when your business produces clean, dry, and well-segregated cardboard in enough volume to make collection worthwhile. Recycling facilities pay rebates for cardboard that can be efficiently processed into new products.

Regular cardboard from deliveries, packaging, warehouses, and manufacturing sites is often a good fit. Wet cardboard, food-stained boxes, plastic-heavy loads, and mixed waste can reduce the value or prevent the load from qualifying.

What your cardboard needs to qualify for a rebate:

• Clean and dry, free from food, liquids, grease, or general waste
• Separated from other materials, such as plastic wrap, tape, polystyrene, or mixed rubbish
• Consistent grades where possible, boxes and corrugated kept together improve value
• Stored securely, protected from rain and weather to prevent contamination
• Sufficient volumes, larger or regular quantities typically achieve better rebate rates
• Baled or compacted (where this improves storage), some buyers pay more for dense, transport-ready loads

Most clean, dry cardboard can qualify for rebates, especially when it is kept separate from general waste.
