Small Commercial Wheelie Bins
Business Waste supplies small wheelie bins for organisations that produce lower volumes of general waste, food waste, or recycling, or have limited space to store bins.
Tell us what waste your business produces, approximately how much, and how often the bin is likely to fill. We’ll confirm whether a small wheelie bin is available in your area, arrange delivery and set up collection on an agreed schedule.
Standard wheelie bins are supplied at no additional cost as part of the collection service. If you also need larger wheelie bins or separate containers for other waste streams, these can be managed through the same Business Waste account.

What is a small wheelie bin?
A small wheelie bin is a compact two-wheel container for lower-volume commercial waste. We provide a 120L bin option in selected areas, smaller than a standard 240L wheelie bin while taking up less storage space.
It has a fitted lid, handle and two wheels for moving the bin between its storage and collection points.

Small wheelie bin dimensions
A small bin is the shortest of all wheelie bins available for collecting, storing, and disposing of business waste. Its smaller size means it also has a reduced capacity compared to 240 and 360 litre wheelie bins, but that does make it easier to store in compact spaces.
240L bins are more common and cost-effective, with 120L bins only available in certain areas. Despite smaller wheelie bin dimensions, you can still store up to three bags of waste and loose recycling in it. Dimensions vary slightly by supplier. A typical 120L bin is approximately:
- Height – from 0.93m
- Width – from 0.48m
- Depth – from 0.55m
There are also lighter weight limits for certain waste types (mainly food and glass waste) due to the size of a small wheelie bin. However, for general waste and most dry recycling types these weight restrictions are the same as for 240 litre bins. Weight limits for a small wheelie bin are:
- Dry mixed recycling – 10kg
- Paper and cardboard recycling – 10kg
- General waste – 10kg
- Food waste – 65kg
Is a small wheelie bin right for my business?
If you find yourself needing more collections than expected, there are plenty of larger wheelie bins available for commercial waste. Consider the following two- and four-wheel options:
What can you put in a small wheelie bin?
A small wheelie bin can be used for a range of non-hazardous commercial waste streams, but each bin should only hold the waste agreed for that collection service.
You cannot put liquid, hazardous, oil, or clinical waste in a small litre wheelie bin. Common waste types you can store in a small litre wheelie bin include:
Arrange small wheelie bin delivery and collection
Tell us what waste you produce, your postcode and how often it needs collecting. We’ll confirm whether a small wheelie bin is available in your area and whether the capacity is suitable for your site. Collected waste is transferred through the appropriate recycling, recovery or disposal route for that material.
Larger wheelie bins and separate containers for other waste streams can also be managed through the same Business Waste account.
