Why choose a 360 litre wheelie bin?
A 360L bin has around 50% more capacity than a 240L wheelie bin while retaining a two-wheel format. It can suit businesses whose 240L bins fill too quickly but do not need the footprint or capacity of a four-wheel 660L container.
Its larger capacity can also reduce the number of smaller bins required or allow a different collection frequency, depending on how much waste your business produces.
360 litre wheelie bin dimensions and weights
360 litre wheelie bin dimensions are 610 x 880 x 1098 mm:
- Width – 610mm (24 inches)
- Depth – 880mm (35 inches)
- Height – 1098mm (43 inches)
They’re the largest kind of two-wheel bin available and can be used to store up to five or six bags of various waste types. Weight limits for a 360L bin depend on the specific waste type.
The maximum 360 litre bin weight varies depending on the waste stream. As an example, some of the weight restrictions for a 360L bin based on the type of rubbish are:
- Dry mixed recycling – 15kg
- Cardboard waste – 15kg
- General waste – 15kg
Collection weight limits are set separately for each waste stream, so a bin should not simply be filled until physically full.

360L wheelie bins are ideal for businesses that produce a lot of general waste or want to recycle materials such as cardboard, paper, and dry mixed recycling.
Businesses that may use a 360L bin include:
- Offices: Useful where a 240L general-waste, paper or DMR bin fills too quickly but a four-wheel container isn’t necessary.
- Cafes/Small Shops: Suitable for agreed general waste, cardboard, packaging or dry-recycling streams. Food waste requires a separate food-waste container.
- Hair/Beauty Salons: General waste, paper/cardboard and suitable clean packaging, while chemicals and other hazardous salon waste need separate containers.
- Small Hospitality Venues: Cardboard, paper, general waste and agreed dry recycling where a 240L bin does not provide enough capacity.
They’re also an option for storage and removal of garden, glass, and many other waste types.
The two-wheel format makes 360L bins more manoeuvrable than larger four-wheel commercial bins in most cases. It’s one of the most common wheelie bin sizes.
Depending on your business needs, you can arrange collection on anything from a one-off to daily, weekly, or fortnightly basis. The extra capacity may allow you to use fewer bins or a different collection frequency than with 240L containers, depending on the amount and weight of waste produced.
