Accounts Receivable Team Leader

Pay: £27,000.00 per year

About the Role

We’re looking for a confident and dynamic Team Leader to join our Finance department and take responsibility for leading and motivating our Accounts Receivable (AR) team. This role is about inspiring people, driving performance, and creating accountability, while ensuring that key AR processes run smoothly and support strong cash flow for the business.

Working closely with the Head of Finance and another Team Leader, you’ll play a central role in managing day-to-day operations, supporting your team’s development, and ensuring consistency and accuracy across the AR function.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead, coach and motivate the AR team to achieve collection targets and deliver results.

· Command authority within the team, setting clear expectations and ensuring accountability.

· Oversee daily operations, including task allocation, workload management, and adherence to deadlines.

· Support and develop team members through 1-to-1s, coaching, and constructive feedback.

· Act as a point of escalation for queries and disputes, ensuring issues are resolved fairly and quickly.

· Foster a positive and professional team culture, balancing performance with support.

· Review team KPIs and reporting data, providing insights and recommendations to the Head of Finance.

· Collaborate with internal departments to resolve customer account issues.

· Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies across the AR function.

About You

· Proven experience leading and motivating a team (minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role).

· Strong people management skills, with the ability to command respect, drive accountability, and inspire performance.

· Excellent communication skills — confident, professional, and able to handle challenging conversations effectively.

· Organised and results-driven, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.

· Accounts Receivable or Credit Control experience is preferred but not essential; what matters most is leadership capability and the ability to deliver through others.

· Experience in a finance or customer-facing environment would be an advantage.
