Waste Management Wiltshire

Business Waste provides waste management for all businesses throughout the county of Wiltshire. Whether you live in a market town such as Bradford Upon Avon or a large town such as Swindon, we can ease the stress of recycling and waste management by offering advice and collection services 24/7, seven days a week.

Your only job is to make a call to us. We will give you a quote within an hour and not long after our disposal team will arrive to first sort out your waste and then take it away. We are an environmentally friendly service with a zero landfill policy. We recycle everything we can, keeping both your business and the environment as clean as is currently possible.

As well as the commercial businesses in the larger residential areas, the economy in Wiltshire is dominated by businesses such as tea shops, markets, restaurants and pubs that cater for visitors looking for a taste of the traditional England countryside. Naturally, this creates a lot of waste and waste management takes time and money. Increasingly businesses are turning to us to manage these concerns.

Waste Disposal
Wiltshire

Today, recycling and waste management is an essential part of running a successful business. Your customers expect and can judge you through your recycling policies. The Stonehenge campsite – one of the most popular tourist sites in England – has a whole area dedicated to recycling bins.

Businesses within the centre of Swindon, Chippenham or Salisbury can contact us to ensure that Wiltshire’s recycling is kept on top of. Items we can help your business to recycle include standard recycling items such as cardboard, plastic and glass, as well as more niche commercial recycling needs, such as oil and hazardous materials. We can create a plan based on your recycling requirements to ensure all is disposed of in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.

Wiltshire

Wiltshire is a county in south-west England famous for stone circles such as Stonehenge – the most popular tourist attraction in England – and the Avebury circle. While it is the 14th largest county in the England, it has the 37th smallest population, with just over 700,000 people calling Wiltshire home. Its largest towns and cities are Swindon, Chippenham and Salisbury, holding almost half the county’s population. Of the three, Salisbury is the most famous. It is home to Salisbury Cathedral, which houses the Magna Carta, Stonehenge and the beginnings of the sparsely populated 300-mile Salisbury plain.

Got a
Question?

  • Can I add an additional bin to my service?

Yes, of course. We can provide extra bins for new waste streams to encourage recycling. Or if you’re simply producing more waste of the same type, we can add an extra or larger bin to your delivery and collection services if you’re at capacity.

  • Do you supply a duty of care certificate?

Yes, we provide a duty of care certificate (also known as a waste transfer note (WTN)) free of charge as part of your service agreement. This is included for free every time we collect any type of waste from your premises. Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.

Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.

  • How often will my bin be emptied?

We offer our customers a choice of daily, weekly, or fortnightly collections – so your bins are emptied as often as you want. Our expert team can advise on the correct waste collection schedule based on the type and amount of waste you produce and your business needs – such as your bin storage space and location.

  • What time will my bin be collected?

Bin collection times vary depending on your location, waste type, number and size of bins, and other factors. We work with all our customers to ensure your waste is always collected on time when it’s suitable for you and the licensed waste carrier. We can work around access times to arrange collections at convenient times.

  • What type of wheelie bins are available?

A range of two and four-wheel bins are available to store all sorts of waste on your premises. Explore our bins to see all available bins and information about what types and amounts of waste they can hold.

For any questions and answers about wheelie bin weight limits, sizes, locks, and anything else – read our bin FAQ guide.

  • How can we reduce our waste?

There are many ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce as individuals and businesses. A waste audit can highlight where you’re producing lots of waste as a starting place to cut down. Simple steps to reduce waste include efficient purchasing, buying reusable products, and recycling as much as possible. For more tips, read our guide about how to reduce waste.

If you have specific questions about reducing a certain type of waste, find the relevant page in Your Waste.

  • Do you collect any type of waste?

Yes! We can collect a wide range of waste types in various amounts from all sorts of businesses. From general waste to popular glass, paper, and packaging recycling – as well as specialist waste streams such as clinical, hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste – we work with licensed waste carriers able to safely collect all such types.

  • Is Business Waste ISO certified?

Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems

These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.

  • What is ISO certification and why is it important?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.

ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
