Waste Disposal
Chorley

From the pubs and restaurants which surround Chorley Market to the large out of town firms such as BAE Systems and Leyland Trucks, we have both the capacity and the knowhow to recycle your trade waste in the most environmentally friendly way possible. We can guarantee exemplary methods that allow your organisation to tick off its corporate social responsibility objectives. It doesn’t matter if it’s metals, plastics, food waste, oversized materials, or hazardous substances: we know how to recycle as responsibly as possible.

Recycling
Chorley

Chorley is a Lancashire town with its fair share of history. A Roman road ran near the site of the town during the times of the Empire, and there are accounts of it from Medieval times. But the town really grew in size during the industrial revolution, which saw the North West region of England become a commercial hub based around the cities of Manchester and Liverpool. It was known as a ‘cotton town’ during this period, with a huge amount of mills dotting the skyline. They have all closed in the latter part of the 20th century, but this has paved the way for new kinds of businesses to emerge.

Like many towns and cities in the North West, sport is popular in Chorley, with football and rugby league taking precedence in the winter months, and cricket played during the summer in the famous Lancashire Leagues. The town is now home to the cream of British cycling, with Bradley Wiggins and Jason Quealley, two gold medallists on the track, making their home there.

Trust
Business Waste

Chorley businesses can certainly do their bit to help improve recycling rates recorded by local authorities, which finished up 122nd in a national league table which was published covering the time period 2014/2015. That means there is plenty of room for improvement, and Business Waste stands ready to help companies in the area stay on top of their trade waste management and recycling.

Got a
Question?

  • Can I add an additional bin to my service?

Yes, of course. We can provide extra bins for new waste streams to encourage recycling. Or if you’re simply producing more waste of the same type, we can add an extra or larger bin to your delivery and collection services if you’re at capacity.

  • Do you supply a duty of care certificate?

Yes, we provide a duty of care certificate (also known as a waste transfer note (WTN)) free of charge as part of your service agreement. This is included for free every time we collect any type of waste from your premises. Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.

Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.

  • How often will my bin be emptied?

We offer our customers a choice of daily, weekly, or fortnightly collections – so your bins are emptied as often as you want. Our expert team can advise on the correct waste collection schedule based on the type and amount of waste you produce and your business needs – such as your bin storage space and location.

  • What time will my bin be collected?

Bin collection times vary depending on your location, waste type, number and size of bins, and other factors. We work with all our customers to ensure your waste is always collected on time when it’s suitable for you and the licensed waste carrier. We can work around access times to arrange collections at convenient times.

  • What type of wheelie bins are available?

A range of two and four-wheel bins are available to store all sorts of waste on your premises. Explore our bins to see all available bins and information about what types and amounts of waste they can hold.

For any questions and answers about wheelie bin weight limits, sizes, locks, and anything else – read our bin FAQ guide.

  • How can we reduce our waste?

There are many ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce as individuals and businesses. A waste audit can highlight where you’re producing lots of waste as a starting place to cut down. Simple steps to reduce waste include efficient purchasing, buying reusable products, and recycling as much as possible. For more tips, read our guide about how to reduce waste.

If you have specific questions about reducing a certain type of waste, find the relevant page in Your Waste.

  • Do you collect any type of waste?

Yes! We can collect a wide range of waste types in various amounts from all sorts of businesses. From general waste to popular glass, paper, and packaging recycling – as well as specialist waste streams such as clinical, hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste – we work with licensed waste carriers able to safely collect all such types.

  • Is Business Waste ISO certified?

Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems

These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.

  • What is ISO certification and why is it important?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.

ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
