Waste Management Buckinghamshire

At Business Waste, we can help companies and organisations in Buckinghamshire to get rid of waste more effectively, more efficiently, and at excellent value for money. Our comprehensive waste management Buckinghamshire services include the collection, transporting, monitoring and disposal or recycling of your trade waste.

Many new commercial interests are starting up all over the county, a place where business growth is actively encouraged and follows the general upward trend that can be seen all over the south-east. Whilst all this growth is great news for the county, it does put extra strain on local waste management systems such as landfill disposal and recycling. In Buckinghamshire, commercial waste can be taken to one of five waste centres, but companies need to pay for waste disposal, as well as transport it themselves. Fly-tipping is also a problem in Buckinghamshire as it is everywhere in the UK. According to Buckinghamshire Council, one person is prosecuted for fly tipping each week in the county. As a Buckinghamshire-based company, it’s important to have the most effective and low-cost waste management system in place and to avoid fly-tipping or fines from the council in any way.

Waste Collection

Our full waste collection service means that we come and take away full bins and replace them with empty ones. This not only saves you time and money but also leaves you to get on with your core business activity. Bin collection in Buckinghamshire is easier for most firms than transporting waste to one of the five centres, which generally takes up a business’s precious time and man hours.

Waste Disposal

At Business Waste, we are proud of our zero waste to landfill policy, which aims to recycle every bit of waste possible. Recycling isn’t only cheaper for you, it’s also better for the environment and can improve your environmental audit, making you more appealing to investors and making Buckinghamshire employees proud to work for you. Items that we are able to recycle in Buckinghamshire include building materials, construction waste, paper, card, plastics, green waste and metals. We provide recycling bins that allow employees to dispose of waste in the correct compartments in order to help them feel like an integral part of the important step toward a greener world. Recycling in Buckinghamshire helps keep the county clean and green and saves you money.

As one of the most appealing of the Home Counties and with excellent links to London, it’s no surprise that the population of Buckinghamshire has grown significantly over the last few years. The town of Milton Keynes, a new town now 50 years old, is still growing significantly. Between 2003 and 2013, MK gained 38,100 more net residents, growing to a population of 255,700, making it one of the largest towns in the UK. Further population increases have been experienced across the county, with Buckinghamshire growing by 16 people a day, accounting for around 6000 new residents each year. Investment in local amenities and transport links to London are part of the reason many people are flocking to Buckinghamshire.

  • Can I add an additional bin to my service?

Yes, of course. We can provide extra bins for new waste streams to encourage recycling. Or if you’re simply producing more waste of the same type, we can add an extra or larger bin to your delivery and collection services if you’re at capacity.

  • Do you supply a duty of care certificate?

Yes, we provide a duty of care certificate (also known as a waste transfer note (WTN)) free of charge as part of your service agreement. This is included for free every time we collect any type of waste from your premises. Duty of care certificates are a legal requirement and licensed waste carriers can complete them for free – so you should never be charged for one.

Find out more about them in our guide to waste transfer notes.

  • How often will my bin be emptied?

We offer our customers a choice of daily, weekly, or fortnightly collections – so your bins are emptied as often as you want. Our expert team can advise on the correct waste collection schedule based on the type and amount of waste you produce and your business needs – such as your bin storage space and location.

  • What time will my bin be collected?

Bin collection times vary depending on your location, waste type, number and size of bins, and other factors. We work with all our customers to ensure your waste is always collected on time when it’s suitable for you and the licensed waste carrier. We can work around access times to arrange collections at convenient times.

  • How can we reduce our waste?

Simple steps to reduce waste include efficient purchasing, buying reusable products, and recycling as much as possible. For more tips, read our guide about how to reduce waste.

If you have specific questions about reducing a certain type of waste, find the relevant page in Your Waste.

  • Is Business Waste ISO certified?

Yes, Business Waste has received Alcumus ISOQAR certification for:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality management systems
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental management systems

These are both in the scope of registration for the provision of waste management brokerage.

  • What is ISO certification and why is it important?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental group that uses experts to set global standards for providing innovation and solutions to worldwide challenges. ISO certification confirms a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure meets the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.

ISO certification is provided by a third party – in our case Alcumus ISOQAR, which provides UKAS accredited ISO certification. The standards provide benchmarks for businesses to meet, ensuring achieving ISO certification demonstrates a well-run, stable business that’s ready to grow. There are more than 20,000 management standards, but the two we’ve achieved provide the following benefits:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 – helps put our customers first.
    • ISO 14001: 2015 – reduces our environmental impact.
