A council in Scotland has opened a new recycling centre and now hopes that more people in the area will recycle their rubbish because of the convenience.
Perth and Kinross Council opened the new facility, which is situated on Ruthvenfield Road, after councillors all said that a new recycling hub was needed to ease pressure on the Friarton Centre, which is located in the South of the city.
Due to the opening of this centre, the number of manned recycling sites run by the council has now risen to nine.
It is now hoped that more people than ever before in this part of Scotland will recycle their old items, as opposed to simply throwing them away. The new facility boasts many opportunities for all items to be recycled. It has facilities for electrical items, timber, engine oil and household waste.
Councillors are said to be pleased with the reaction of residents to the new facility. Figures also highlight that Perth and Kinross has one of the best composting and recycling figures in the whole of Scotland. This new facility will raise these figures even higher.
