Following a successful pilot project, Bradford Council has decided to install a new recycling bank for small electrical items in one of its towns.
The Yorkshire council has chosen Haworth to be the location for the bank and has said that this is just one of many upcoming recycling banks it plans to incorporate in the area in the near future. The bank will enable residents to recycle items and possessions such as mobile phones, electronic toys, hairdryers and old computers easily and quickly. A recycling firm will collect the waste on a weekly basis.
WasteCare is the company that provided the bank and their representatives will collect the items for recycling , although the Council has issued a warning that on no account should larger electrical items such as fridges and freezers be deposited at the bank as the project is not designed for items as big as these. Instead, such items should still be disposed of at recommended household waste recycle centres in the area.
