Dartford Council goes pro waste

Posted on:

Dartford Council has told residents to recycle more and has set about launching a new initiative that will help people achieve their recycling goals.

Leaflets have been handed out to various properties in the area which will hopefully see people recycling more cans, tins, aerosols and foil. Councillors hope the campaign will show how much energy can be saved by recycling and hopefully highlight the benefit of recycling when it comes to reducing costs for taxpayers in Dartford.

Councillors also hope that the campaign will develop a better understanding of the need for households to recycle more.

It is known that recycling one tonne of aluminium saves nine tonnes of CO2 emissions. This is the equivalent of driving nearly 3,000 miles.

The campaign is being entitled the ‘metal recycling campaign’ and Dartford residents are encouraged to get on board.
